Blansh used
to be a governess. She has been insulted and fired from the job. Her first baby
has been born dead. Dirk has met her on his way of living and they have got
married. The woman has a very beautiful body, that’s why Charles Strickland
wants to make her portrait.
One day
Charles shows his drawings to the narrator of the story. They seem to be very
expressive and full of color. Mr. Strickland let his hair down with the help of
colors. The painter uses the technique of simplicity – there is no doubt that
Dirk Stroeve has managed to see something new in Strickland's works. He leaves Paris to Marseille and
since that time the story teller doesn’t see him.
Charles
seems to him as a bad man, but the good too, at the same time. Charles
Strickland and Peter Bruegel have the same hobby – they are eager to put the
ideas of literature into the painting.
This book
is being written in Tahiti the last step of
Charles’ life. The most attractive thing in the island is its full life, from
Strickland’s opinion. Their the narrator comes to know Capitan Nicolas who has
been the companion of the painter. They have met each other in Marseille where
they are looking forward to find a job and something to eat. But then Strickland
has left France to Australia because
of quarrel with the owner of the house for the pours.
The head of
the inn has just said that Mr. Strickland has arrived Tahiti
having earned money for the trip. Other family who has ever seen our main hero
is the Cowen’s one. Charles used to be work on their plantations which pictures
he has depicted then. They are apprised about 30 000 ₣.
The
narrator corresponds two similar experiences which have been in his life. His course
mate, Abraham used to be the prestigious beginner doctor in the whole
university. But then he, like Strickland, has gone away and stayed abroad,
without his all privileges. The other course mate, the number two year by year,
replaces him. How knows, may be it has already happened with the main character.
